WOYWW 444

Hi all. So ran out of time and energy last week!Missed you all.
Had my All Day Christmas Class on Sat before last. I was tired after that, had lots going on as well. Class was very good and hope Julia won't mind some of the photos at the end. I fear my post will be a bit/ well a lot photo heavy - sorry. When I posted last time Julia noticed a box amongst the preparation- I was going to show it in all its glory but have let a lady , who missed the morning session borrow it to help her do hers so I will show it you next week - well hopefully.
Saturday just gone I joined in the Stampin' Up! Christmas Cheer Challenge - making cards for Ronald McDonald Houses - it was held in various places across the UK. Stampin Up demonstrators held various types of events. Mine was low key at home. Some of my class members came and made some cards. Our granddaughters and DH joined in. We managed to make 120. It was a very special and happy time.
Today, rather late I know I managed to make my Christmas Cake. I am so behind with everything. I haven't even managed to put my Advent Star and other lights and Advent pieces out. Tomorrow I am out for a Festive Afternoon Tea - my friend has booked it specially as I had to miss it before as I was poorly. On Thursday I hope to catch up with a friend I've not seen for ages and I need to start shopping :-(

Well I guess Id best leave my comings and goings there for now and share my space.
Earlier this afternoon (Tues) my table was actually very tidy. After a couple of hours this afternoon crafting it looks as though I've had burglars turn the room over :-)

All this to make a small box :-)

Below , a not so good photo of our Class makes. The ladies made a total of 15 cards and the rather special box.

Photos below are the ladies prior to starting and then when we stopped for the gorgeous yummy lunch.

The cards that were made for the Ronald Mcdonald Houses.

Hope you enjoyed looking. If you want to join in looking at desks around the globe then go and visit the the lovely Julia's Blog and find out what it's all about.

Mum recovered from the Noro Virus. Yesterday she moved to a Care home for a while. this morning she fell again , in the bathroom. She waited a long time for Paramedics to come and see her. They don't think she has broken anything though knee sore. They have said see how it goes - didn't want to send her for an xray as it was late, I think they should have done. The Care Home are not sure it's right place for her now, despite them going to see her twice and assess her. She is staying for at least next two days while they do an assessment, she may have to move. She told staff at the hospital yesterday she didn't feel well enough to leave but they told her she would be alright. She is still down in Somerset so it is very hard to do anything. The whole situation is very hard and to be honest a real mess on so many levels. I just feel so sorry for mum. She doesn't deserve it all. It makes me so sad.
Well that is all for now. Hopefully back next week.

  2. Your card making class looks to have been really successful....well done you. As to your poor little mummy I’m sooooo sorry to hear how she’s struggling with life. It’s just not fair how the system fails folk at a time of life when they should be happy, comfortable and enjoying life. Sending you lots of hugs.

  4. Morning Anne. Oh my... what a mess. Hospitals are only too keen to chuck out the patients these days, aren't they! I do hope all gets sorted soon for her, and for yourselves. Well done on all those cards! That's amazing - so much done and so many made in just a day!
    Take care girl. God bless.

  5. Hi Anne, it's such a bad situation for your Mom, I agree. Terrible when she's being shunted from pillar to post. I do hope something stable gets sorted soon, for all your sakes.

You have been busy this week, well done on the Ronald McD cards, what an amazing number and I'm very jealous of the Christmas crafting day, it looked fab, especially the lunch!

So sorry to hear about your mum's fall, what is wrong with these hospitals... she should have had an x ray... also if she was not fit for discharge then she should have stayed...all to do with figures as a retired nurse of 40 years it makes me scream... I really hope the care home take care of her and don't move your poor mum again... stunning cards and that food looked so good... May #3

  14. It doesnt matter Anne - go out with your friends, enjoy the breaks and festive spirit, rest when youre at home and decorate when you feel like it...you dont have to do it all on your own..delegate and enjoy! Your all day class looks wonderful, well done, you must have been exhausted! So sorry for your Mum, so frustrating that having assessed her they now want to go back on it, the distance is so hard, really I feel for you. Xx

  15. Lovely photos of your get together. I thought the food looked scrumptious, and what fun Christmas cards with the reindeer for the Ronald McDonald home. We made cards for them, but not as many. Well done! Also, I found it interesting how much you could get on that blue cart. I kind of want one of those. It looks like it would be very useful. So sorry to hear about your Mom!
Thanks for your stop by at my place earlier. 336
