So my desk this week - I am trying to get everything ready for my All Day Class in November - so lots of cutting of card and paper etc.
I work on the dining table usually - I did tidy up a bit - had to, ran out of space - there's stuff on the floor and everywhere else but this bit now looks a bit more organised.
Below is my actual desk - very small and it was a washstand in a former life, it is quite old. It also needs to be tidied up.
Below you can see the start of a sleigh and reindeer I have been playing with. I have used thinlits from Stampin Up. I didn't come up with the idea and at the moment I cannot remember the name of the lady who put up a tutorial. I need to do something with the inside as I didn't do it wholly according to the instructions. I think I am going to put a 'sack' of sweeties in the back.
Well I have tried to keep it short and sweet this week. If you don't know yet why I am showing you my desk/or what WOYWW is then pop over to the lovely Julia's Blog - the founder of WOYWW. Find out more and join in the fun. I will visit all who visit me and who end in same number as me plus as many more as I can manage.
I love how the sleigh is coming along. Crafting is just the best therapy when life gets difficult.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

I agree with Annie I always use art and crafts as therapy - it just seems to put your mind in a different place. Good luck with your sleigh x Jackie 21
ReplyDeleteYou didn't sound too sorry for yourself at all...many of us have been in the same boat. You try not to complain but we understand the stresses behind caring for an elderly parent at a considerable distance. I did it for four years, it's tough. Give yourself a big hug from me.
ReplyDeleteI love the reindeer and sleigh, those SU products are very clever!

ReplyDeleteHi Anne, glad your Mum's ok. It is good to have a creative outlet to help you get through difficult times, and people to share it with too. I've been going with a friend to some card classes with a local SU demonstrator and we're loving it, great fun and stress free! Love your sleigh, a little sack of sweeties would be perfect I'd say! :o) Annie C #15

ReplyDeleteI know someone else who is making a sleigh and reindeer (not me) so it was lovely to see yours. I love the wooden figures behind, Willow Tree - have I got that right? I have quite a few of these collected over the years. Each one means a certain something or reminds me of someone in my life. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSending kind and loving thoughts re your mum, good when crafting can ehlp out in a stressful situation,
Hugs & Thanks for coming to see me

That sleigh is so great! I was thinking some candies would be cute in the back of it, and then you said it. Ha! I do hope you share it when you get it done. Glad your mom is well.

Cute sleigh...this time of year I buy those nets of sweeties for stockings...if I used them in a project I would be eating them before they were shown off! Glad your Mum is doing well.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated WOYWW. I am finally sat down with my laptop and visiting a few more blogs. You sound really busy again. I take life easier and easier - eventually I will hardly be doing anything with my days! Ali x #7
ReplyDeleteHopelessly behind with my WOYWW visits - again! Looks like you are busy there!
ReplyDeleteCrafting is a great way to escape from the daily life and if you can't vent on a blog then where can you :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my desk already

Oh bless you - don't you worry about going on about your Mum. This is YOUR blog and you can say as much or as little as you like. Sometimes these spaces we share our life on become our own personal therapy space, and sharing with friends can be reassuring and comforting. So you share away, girl!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW for last week by the way - I'm late getting round.... as always.
