Wednesday again and I've actually managed to blog last Friday and now again today.
Thank you for all the lovely comments last week.
Time is certainly flying by - already so much on calendar between now and the big day ( Christmas :-) )
There has been a bit of a lull in proceedings since last week though I've been busy preparing for the Christmas Charity Fair I mentioned. I really have no idea how it's going to pan out. I don't know if I've made enough , not enough but I've had enough of making for it now. Not sure I like doing it really.
I did take my Aunt to hospital last Thursday- she has a cataract - in her only eye. Unfortunately removal of cataract is not advised. It won't make much difference to her sight as the scarring on her retina - a result of macular disease is the real problem. Removing the cataract might cause her to lose what vision she does have, sadly she had to have her left eye removed because of a malignant melanoma behind the eye. I do feel so sorry for her but she is not the easiest of ladies - also doesn't help herself. She thinks that I should be there a lot to help her.
On Friday night I had a great time at my friend's Pink Party' ( raising money for cancer research etc) She decided on Tapas for the menu. The food was fabulous but I ate far too much!!!! Sadly only took a couple of photos on my phone but they were not very good.
Since then I have been crafting!!! Did have a visit from my D.I.L., son and granddaughters which was lovely. We were invited to spend Christmas Day with them ( that was last Friday) then when they came on Sunday DS asked if they could come to us :-) It is going to be a difficult time for them as it's first Christmas without Sarah's ( D.I.L.) dad and on top of that they have building work starting next week.
Anyway I'm sorry Julia the big boss of WOYWW in case you were wondering :-) I have digressed. So here's my work space. Tidy really. There was a mountain of stuff but I was struggling to find stuff or a space to work so had to have a big tidy up.
I also spread about a bit. I have my makes for craft fair in various stages of readiness scattered around the place.
In lounge - some part finished wreaths and treat boxes
The dining table - the hearts, gifts bags and more treat boxes
tags
more bags, treat boxes and little bags waiting for bag charms to be put in and decorated.
Well that's it for now. I will visit everyone who visits me and those ending with same number. x

Happy WOYWW. You have certainly been busy. I like the thought of doing a charity fair, but know that I would never get enough items made. Sorry to hear about your aunt. It must be awful to have limited sight. Ali x #42

Hi Anne - well done at juggling life as well as the craft stuff for the fair. It's always hard to know how much, or sometimes even what to make. It just depends on who turns up on the day - I hope you have a fine day and it's a sell-out! You certainly deserve it. Well done, too, on coping with Auntie. It's not easy, but you sound like you're doing a great job. Hugs, Chris # 8
ReplyDeleteWow, you really are well equipped! Have fun creating!

Thanks for the digression :) Anne. It is good to catch up on your latest. My youngest son arrived safely after driving across the States and is in the process of setting up bank accounts etc. for permanently settling in the area. Yea! I am cheering you on with your latest creative efforts! xx

Sorry to hear you've been having problems with your aunt and her eyes, Anne. We know only too well what it is like dealing with elderly relatives - my mum (93) can be extremely difficult and I find it very stressful having her under the same roof (she is in the annexe in part of the house). By behaving badly, they are their own worst enemy, aren't they, because they make helping them a chore and a duty, and not a joy, and they are far from happy themselves!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to have a good time with other family members, though. That really helps.
Thank you for your lovely comment, and I am sorry to hear your arthritis has been causing problems for you. Not getting a good night's sleep is horrible. I sleep much better now I have a memory foam mattress and I recently got an adjustable bed which has revolutionised my life! Being able to sleep slightly elevated alleviates my reflux problems too. I hope this week that you will be able to catch up a bit and have a good rest, and catch up on some much needed sleep.
I am feeling a lot better now, thank you. Sunday was a bad day with an upset stomach and sleeping so much in the day. I am hoping to post tomorrow about the soap making - tonight's class was awesome and I am enjoying it soooo much! I've ordered stuff on Ebay so I can continue at home - the teacher provides all we need for each class. Tonight my hands still smell fabulous from all the essential oils and my skin is sooo soft! My hubby's a happy bunny too with such great soap not causing him an allergic reaction!
Happy WOYWW, and keep well,
Shoshi #33
Hope your aunts vision doesn't deteriorate for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteLoving the craft projects. Good luck with the craft fair.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Happy WOYWW

Anne, haven't you been busy, with taking your aunt to hospital and all that stuff for the craft fair, and now you have to plan Christmas when you thought you were having the day off. Never mind, I'm sur eyou will have fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by my desk, hope you have managed to catch up on your sleep.

ah dear Anne, well done on all that preparation we really are on the run at this time of year eh?? Happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #76
ReplyDeleteHello Anne,
ReplyDeleteYou are earning points by helping your Aunt. I'm sure she does appreciate what you do and she's probably worried about what's going on. Bless you both.
I also know what you mean about craft fairs. I knit constantly while watching t.v. just because it relaxes me and I enjoy it. As the fair gets closer is when I start feeling it - just like you, wondering if I have enough or not. What will sell, what won't. etc. What you've made looks great and I'm sure you'll do wonderful!
I'm slowly making my way around to desks. Thank you for visiting me earlier!
Happy belated WOYWW,
Hugs, Kay
