WOYWW 451

Here we are again - time to show our desks/working spaces. It does come round quickly :-) Pop over to Julia's Blog and join in the fun.
Thank you to those who popped by last week. I tried to reply to all. Sorry Sarah that I can't comment on yours but I do look.
I had hoped to visit a few more than I did but but ran out of time. Last Wednesday I travelled down to Somerset to visit Mum. ( see previous post ) She does look well in the photo but it was hard getting her to the dining room - physically , walking is still painful and difficult. She was quite cheerful when we were there but is down again now and won't make much effort to leave her room :-(

On Sunday I spent the day with my Stampin'Up! Upline and some other Demonstrators for some very informal training and crafting. Of course there was food and cake as well :-)  Had a super day even though the weather was dreadful. My downline,  Karen drove all the way from Billericay, in the snow to be there. She then had a difficult journey home in the rain. she deserves a medal! It was  so good to be with other like minded people and craft.

On Monday DH and I went to the Alexandra Theatre in B'ham to see our granddaughter take part with  others in her class in the Regional Finals of a Dance Competition for Schools. The children from all schools represented were brilliant. My granddaughter is 8 and she was with other members of her class and their dance had a Disney Theme. It was so beautiful to watch and made me cry - in a good way.

Tonight ( Tuesday ) I have been to watch our other granddaughter at her football training. She is a real tomboy and loves football. She was a little frustrated as the boys tend not to pass the ball to the girls and this upset her.

I have managed a little crafting as well. A card to swap on Sunday, and two birthday cards, not quite finished the one - you can see it on my work table.

I took these late tonight ( Tues) light very poor so you cannot really see the first one very well. The stamp set is a Stampin Up one called Heartfelt Blooms - it is a beautifully detailed stamp and if you Google you will see some beautiful images. It is actually free with a spend of £45 during Salebration.  I stamped in black and have added some Wink of Stella. I tied some metallic thread around the left side. The sentiment is embossed in silver and I added a few rhinestones.

My work space , with the start of another card. It is for my great niece who will soon be eleven. The balloon paper is again from Stampin Up and is actually photographed balloons. Gorgeous paper in the pack.

Well I hope you enjoyed looking. I look forward to visiting as many as I can tomorrow. Oh by the way thank you for the kind concern re my tummy problems. Things seem to have calmed down for now.

  1. You’ve made some fab cards Anne in your ever busy week. It’s so lovely to share the special time with your grandchildren but sad that your mum isn’t enjoying a happier life. Old age has little going for it....and we are all heading that way eh?
    Big hugs,

  3. Morning Anne. Those cards are lovely - well done. The thought you put into them is great - and I love the idea of glittery thread - I usually default to ribbon... Note to self - must remember the thread!!
Glad you had such good times seeing your grandchildren doing what they do best!
    Take care. God bless.

  4. Hi Anne, so glad you're feeling a bit better and that you managed to celebrate your mum's birthday with her; her hair looks great in the picture! Hope she is feeling a little brighter soon and more like socialising. Have a good week. Sarah #18

  7. Lovely cards, Anne - I particularly love the sawn logs pattern - so wintery and great for more masculine cards - I always have trouble making for the men in the family! So sorry to hear your mum is down again, it must be very difficult for you being so far away from her.
Have a good week and I hope your mum's spirits lift a little,

  9. I'm so glad that you got to see your grandchildren in their school activities! I'm glad you're feeling better, but sorry mum is not feeling mobile. We had to deal with all 4 of our parents who went through those declining years, it's not a fun time at all for any of the family. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  12. Lovely cards, I do like black and white together so that really hit the spot for me. The balloon one is really lovely and colourful - ideal for your eleven year old.
It must have been a real tear jerker watching your grandee in her dancing so I can understand you having a tear or two.
So sorry your mum is still not settled but it is a lovely photo of her that you are sharing.
Take care Anne, Love and Hugs 7 Thanks for visiting me whilst I was sleeping x

  14. Hi! So glad you stopped over to see me. I enjoyed reading about what is going on with you. I am envious that you get see your granddaughters in programs and sports! Ours are so far away and we miss all of their music concerts or games, or plays! It makes me sad that we are missing so much. Two grandsons have fraduations this Spring, one from college , one from High school, and I am. Determined that we are going!

  15. I really like the swap card - the bling are in the perfect spots! Glad you had fun at your meeting, it really is nice to be with like minded people! I don't have many crafter friends here, but I do have one, and we get together once in awhile. So nice to have grandchildren to be proud of! Thank you for your visit! Lindart #37 (now!)

Popping by again

Just popping by to say hello. Not a lot to report really.  I had a table, with a friend at a Craft fair at a local church. We got our table...
