WOYWW 600

Goodness what an achievement Julia. Congratulations on the 600th Edition of WOYWW.

Thank you to all who commented last week, think I visited all who came by and I am sorry if I missed anyone.

It has not been the best of weeks. We made the difficult decision along with our sons that we would not get together. We had been invited to Jonathan's for Christmas Day,  Matthew and family were going to visit and stay Boxing night. Even though it will be allowed it is not wise. I have been so upset as have family. So many tears and I think I have cried more for Mum as well than before - it seems to have really hit me. Eldest granddaughter walked round to say hello and she ended up crying and I couldn't comfort her.

If weather permits we might meet in our garden, I will provide some hot drinks/food and go for a walk. It is a long way though for Matthew and family to travel for just two hours. We will see what happens.

After feeling as though I didn't want to do Christmas I have pulled myself together and started decorations.

Also got myself sorted re making things/cards that I need to get posted.

The room and table look a tip.

Empty glass was a chocochino - yummy

I finished the cards for the girls to colour. Packaged them up ready to deliver tomorrow.

Going to water colour the images and then cut out for a card.

Trying to resist those chocolates :-)

Well I think that's it. Looking forward to visiting others,

Why not pop along to Julia's Blog the stamping ground and find out more about WOYWW and Julia's marvelous achievement.

  1. Happy 600th WOYWW! It’s good to see your desk in action Anne, I always admire your crafting, it’s so neat. I’m sorry you’re upset about the Christmas decision not to see the family, there’s just no easy answer is there? Hopefully the vaccine will mean that you can reschedule for sometime in the Spring - roll on getting back to normality.

  2. I'm doing a quick whistle stop tour of all my fav blogs today. I'm in the middle of making two bears and an elephant so can't stop long today but I needed to pop by to say happy 600th celebrations to you and thank you for your friendship over the past 11+ years. Long may it last eh?
    Stay safe and well.

  3. Hello Anne, sorry to hear you have had a bad week. We have also decided not to get together as family over Christmas as it seems foolish to have come so far and take the risk. We are all physically close on my side, so we will try and go for a walk if the weather is fine. On hubby's side, we are much more widespread and we are going to miss them very much (they are the real party animals of this family!!). It's one year, and we are taking the view that we will do what we can in the hopes that we appreciate next year even more. Lovely idea to make the cards for colouring for the children. As for the chocolates - why resist lol? Happy 600th WOYWW, have a lovely week, stay well, stay safe, Cindy xx #30

  4. Hi Anne. Yes, the decisions are hard this year, aren't they - and I think we are all thinking of folks we simply can't meet up with because they have died... Tears are good though! I have decided to go with the verse in the Old Testament that says God gathers up all our tears and puts them in a bucket. In other words, He doesn't ignore them, they are important to Him. Pretty good, huh?
Enjoy those chocolates as a celebration of being a part of something as big as WOYWW.
    Take care. God bless.

  5. It's hard when you have family, Anne. I have not been anywhere since March 13, so I understand your feelings.

You make beautiful cards. It seems great to let the children color them. Happy 600th from #6.

  7. Glad you have been able to regain your footing regarding Christmas!

I am Jewish and this has been a particularly difficult year for my family. Not only are we not able to gather as a community for Shabbos, each week, so many of our holy days (Passover, Sukkos, Rosh HaShanah, and Chanukah)are centered around family, the dinner table, and community. The inability to observe these holy days as we are commanded in Torah, is disconcerting. I think the thing that has given the Hubster and I strength is from a quote I saw recently. "We isolate now so that when we gather again, no one will be missing!"

I like the idea of creating cards to be colored. I did that for my grandkids but usually the image was on the inside. You have inspired me to create card that they can color and send to their friends!

Be well, and stay safe! I will pray that you continue to be surrounded by positive energy now and throughout your holiday season!

  8. Hi Anne, so sorry you are feeling low, I completely understand what you are going through as we have made the same decision with our family. It's so hard isn't it. I love your idea of colouring cards for the children. Don't try too hard to resist those choccies, I believe there's a chemical in chocolate that lifts the spirits!!
    Happy 600th anniversary,

  9. Oh Anne! It's so hard isn't it. Mum is determined that we will go to hers - we shall just have to see what happens over the next few weeks with Alex at school. He is the biggest risk as I am working from home the whole time. Happy 600th WOYWW. Stay safe and take care. With love & God Bless. Caro xxx (#14)

  10. I understand how you feel but you are doing the right thing in not getting together with everyone. I think we need to look to the future right now and try and keep our family as safe as possible so they are still around when things get better. I lost my father in April due to Covid and now we're trying to do the best we can for my mum. It's a long story but basically their carers at the time were unable to get the PPI that they needed but thank goodness we tested negative as we are registered carers and do the shopping and housework but I still worry all the time because without us mum would have to have yet more people coming in the house as she is unable to do very much at all. We just have to stay positive that things will get better. Wishing you a very happy woyww and a lovely creative week. Angela x19x

  11. Hi Anne, it's such a shame that Christmas plans are being scuppered after the year we have all had, in particular for those who have lost loved ones, like yourself. We too have reluctantly cancelled plans to all have Christmas Dinner together at my elder daughter's house. We will see my younger daughter and her family over the holiday period, but the other normal family events are cancelled. Scoff the chocolates- it's a well known cure for anything and everything. Sending you a big hug, Heather xx #25

  14. A difficult decision but a sensible one Anne. I won't be seeing my parents this year either as we have decided to just join with our two older boys who share a house for Christmas lunch. I will be posting Mum's birthday card for this year although hopefully we will be able to have a belated celebration in the Spring. Looking forward to Saturday old laptop permitting. Stay safe and happy 600th WOYWW. Sarah #5

  15. Sorry to hear about the emotional upset over not having a family gathering over Christmas. I think all this business is upsetting a great number of people. I hope you will all be able to get together soon, though, even if it isn't at Christmas. Well done making yourself get on with your preparations. Your cards ready for the children to colour brought back memories for me - we always used to have these as children and loved colouring them in.

    Happy WOYWW 600,
