WOYWW

Hello all. I have missed you as yet again I have been missing!

Sadly on 8th January Mum was taken into hospital. At first told pneumonia, possibly sepsis, antibiotics intravenouslyi, then put in sideward - flu. Then not flu. It changed hourly. As someone you know my mum lives 140 miles away! I visited on 12th Jan, staying at the hospital until 9pm and getting back at 12.30pm.
Daily reports were concerning and I had a bag packed all the time.
Friday 18th Jan was mum's 90th birthday. Some of family there that day and then there were eight  of us there on Saturday. Our eldest son travelled down by train from Yorkshire to see her, younger son took DH and me down. She is very weak and slept a lot of the time but was pleased to see us. At the moment she is barely eating but we hope she will get better and we will have some sort of celebration.
It has been a roller coaster of emotions on many levels ( family issues as well) and I seemed to spend a lot of time on the phone etc.

Anyway that is the very short version of events and reason for my absence.

I photographed my desk/ aka dining table  Tuesday evening. Light not good.

I had been trying to just stamp a background rectangle using an acrylic block. Done it lots of times but just couldn't get it right!
I will try again on Thursday
I am preparing for a class on Saturday ( all being well )

I will leave you with the card I made for Mum and as flowers were not allowed I made a little basket of flowers . I hope that soon she will be out of hospital and we can send some real ones.

So if you want to know what WOYWW is all about click on the button on my sidebar and do join in the fun.
Hope to be back next time and meanwhile will get to as many desks as I can. Take care.

  1. Oh dear, Anne. I'm so sorry for your mum's condition. I think I've told you that we lost all four of our parents in a 5 year time span so I can totally relate. Just hope that she'll get the care she needs and give her lots of love. And remember, take care of yourself, too. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. So sorry to hear what you have been going through with your mum. I do hope she keeps improving day to day. The basket of flowers all made from paper was a lovely idea and I am sure it brightened up the ward immensely.
Nothing much I can say except I will keep her in my prayers.

  4. Morning Anne. Oh my - what a couple of weeks you have had. All those miles, concerns about your mum, much family travel... I do wish you well, and hope that you can put your hand into the hand of Father God at this time, who sees your cares and concerns, loves you and won't ever let you go.
Take care dear girl. God bless.

  5. Hugs to you. Love the 90th card and flowers you have made for your Mum. I could ditto your post. Seems 3 months of family/friends same issues. Taking winter as a blessing, with bitter cold/ice I can stay home and free my mind up. Take time to enjoy simple things to find some solace. I found white hot chocolate !! Best Wishes to you and yours.

  7. Wow, no flowers in hospital, that’s the case in Intenisve care, here but flowers are okay in medical ward. Pray mum mends soon so she can enjoy her 90th. So hard when they are up and down like that dear Anne.
    Sending prayer hugs your way.
Hope you work the technique out. There are lots of videos on it.

  8. I'm so sorry to hear about your mum and send hugs to you. I know all about long distance parental care, it's tough. The basket of flowers you made for her is lovely and will last so much longer than real ones, she'll be able to love them for longer.

  14. Well Anne, you’re bearing up under the weight of another tough month; your poor Mum, her health has made her suffer over the last year hasn’t it. Your worry levels could probably do without classes and preparations, but really they’re good to take your mind away from it for an hour or two. Will be thinking of you.
