WOYWW 301 (and Yorkshire)

Wednesday - again - phew where did that week go ? Well I was busy in a lovely way so can't complain. :-) but I will write about that later so that if you only want to look at my desk you need not read on.

Last week I visited everyone and left a comment where I could. Thank you to all who reciprocated and visited me. This week I shall visit my favourites, all who visit me and those ending with same number as me. Why am I visiting people's work spaces ? Click on the WOYWW icon on my blog and join in.

Since last week on the crafting front I worked a little more on my project for my up coming 'All Day Class' in April , made some cards and have carried on with making 'leaves' in Sugar Craft for a foliage arrangement.
Tomorrow two of the ladies who couldn't make my last class are coming to craft. I am also getting ready for my next Saturday class! It's all go :-)

My workspace - there is a card in the making there although I have decided to change the colour of the card.

The 'box' from last week. This is as far as I've got at the moment - next part prepped though.

My foliage to date - have some glazing and steaming to do!!!
I have enjoyed the leaf making - they may not be perfect but I find them great therapy.

Below is what else has been going on this week.

Yorkshire

Last Wednesday was our eldest son's birthday - my baby was 39 - how did that happen? We went up to Yorkshire to celebrate on Thursday. We stayed with son and family Thursday evening. Had a lovely meal.
On Friday DH and I were booked into a B&B for two nights. Youngest son and family were arriving for the weekend as well and we decided it was going to be a bit cramped with 6 adults and 4 children - especially as my poor D.I.L. had to work on Sat and Sun ( she is a nurse) and really needed her own bed!
We went along to our 'home' for the weekend on Friday morning with our D.I.L. We were not disappointed! It was a stunning place and the owners were so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was delightful and spacious and breakfast was amazing. We could not have asked for more.

It's  Ackroyd House

On Saturday we went to http://www.cannonhallfarm.co.uk/
It was a lovely day and we took a picnic. There was lots for the children to do and see and they had a whale of a time. Saw cows being milked, newborn piglets and lambs and also had a tractor ride. A super day with all y grandchildren and family ( missed you Carolynn)
On the evening we all went out for dinner complete with Champagne. It was then back to my son's home for cake - Carolynn had a made a yummy chocolate cake - it had kitkats all around it and M&M's and Smarties on top.
The children loved being together and had lots of fun. We certainly enjoyed having everyone together. We came home on Sunday tired but very happy. See you soon, x

  3. Wow Anne, that was a posh B&B! It looks like a lovely place. I'm glad you had such a lovely family time. And the weather seems to have been good too.
(My son is 39 too. He was born in the summer of 1976, which you must remember was a very hot summer.)

  9. Thanks for sharing the photos from your travels. I get to travel without leaving my desk! I like your butterfly card and think it is great in the color it is in... it'll be nice in another color as well, very versatile. The leaves are nifty. Crafting is good therapy indeed! Judy #67

  14. My goodness Anne. I have just spent ages looking at that accommodation - seems it would even be suitable for us. There are not too many places where john could now stay - all on one level, wide doorways, safe showers, ability to take his scooter inside as well as out.... What a wonderful weekend you had - yes, exhausting (grandies have SO much energy), but oh, how lovely to spend such a great time with your family!
Thanks for visiting already. Sorry we won't meet up at the show - as you say - another time.
    Take care. God bless.

  15. So glad you had such a nice time away. Nice photos! We have had some marvellous holidays in Yorkshire when my school friend lived there, and we loved it. I love the box you are making, and the leaves look very intriguing! Look forward to seeing further progress on this interesting project.

Thanks for your very understanding and sympathetic comment. So far, during this final countdown week, I am managing to relax and stay calm but that will change as The Day draws nearer! Glad you liked the photo of 2 of the special ones in my life!!

    Happy WOYWW,

  16. Anne

It does sound like you had the best time and what a beautiful place to stay and those surroundings are amazing, being away myself it is nice to have the beauty of the country surround you. I always try and visit whomever visits me and my favourites some times I visit everyone then I struggle to get back to some, but I always do eventually. I also like leaving a reasonable comment because I actually like what I see, hope you have a crafty week

  17. It is so special to have everyone together, couldn't love it more myself! I really like the colour of the card under the butterfly..I wonder what has prompted you to change it! I'd forgotten steaming for sugarcraft....it's been years. The leaves look amazing...they have to be realistic, not perfect!

  19. Hi Anne, what a lovely place you had to stay in, looks beautiful.
Unfortunately the year pass all to quickly, my baby was forty in February so I feel old as well.
Thanks for visiting my page and you lovely comments and I have just realised that one of those cards was intended as your birthday card through UK Papercrafters, so I will just have to work on something different. Got a fe w days in which to do it.
    Bless you

  20. Thank you for another lovely comment, Anne. I was so frustrated yesterday after we heard, and had a little weep in bed, but today I feel a lot better about it, even though totally exhausted physically (the emotional rollercoaster is affecting my M.E.). We are hoping for news of a new date soon, and until then I cannot plan anything and hate being in limboland yet again! I am sure my surgeon will do everything he can to get me to the top of his list on his return and we shouldn't have to wait much longer, I hope.

  21. Thank you for a lovely upbeat and cheery comment, Anne, but sorry to hear you've been having computer woes. Hope they are short lived. Yes, the postponements have both had their benefits, and getting the new buggy was certainly one of them! Glad you like my bed drapes. I shall be very busy before Friday (if indeed that is to be the date of my surgery) so probably not much more time for treats, but hopefully we'll have one or two takeaways again! I keep saying "last meal of the condemned man" only to find I have yet another reprieve! Let's hope the surgery goes through smoothly this time. I am hoping to hear from the hospital tomorrow.

  22. Thanks for another lovely comment, Anne, and for your prayers and good wishes for Friday. We are really hoping nothing will go wrong this time, and that I will get through the surgery at last! I am glad you have got your laptop back. My small laptop is in hospital at the moment and I hope they can breathe new life into it, in time for me coming out of hospital so I can get all my software back on, and hopefully find it is behaving like new!

  24. Thank you so much for your lovely encouraging comments during my hospital stay, Anne. I am so glad to have come home on Tuesday, and am making good progress with my convalescence. My hubby and I are learning our "new normal" with the stoma. Please keep an eye on my blogs for further updates as and when I feel up to doing them!
