WOYWW New Year's Eve

Hi there and thank you for the lovely comments last week. I think my dining table looked very long because of angle I took photo :-) I can seat 12 comfortably. On Christmas Day there were six of us so lots of space and on Boxing day ten of us. It looked very pretty once I'd removed the crafting cloth and put on tablecloth etc. I also put on a 'colouring in' cloth :-) to keep the children occupied between courses - also kept adults busy :-) and it's only crafting I've done!!!!

Below is the 'coloured in cloth' - now on kitchen table !!!!

My space / aka dining table is now being restored to crafting work space albeit very slowly and one end is being used to store dishes etc used during festivities and waiting to be put away!!! I want to sort out cupboards first and declutter a bit. So no crafting to speak of!!!

Well hope to be back on WOYWW next week with some crafting going on - need to start planning next class.

Just wanted to join in last one of 2014 and say

                                            HAPPY NEW YEAR

Will try and visit as many as I can over next few days . See you next year :-) x

  4. Hi Anne! What a great idea to have a colouring table cloth! From the quality of the colouring, I take it your grandchildren are no longer toddlers! It's a wonderful keepsake as well! Wishing you all the best for 2015! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #26

  17. The coloring cloth is a great idea! I suspect since we don't have a big group it might take a few years for us to fill it in! Thanks for the visit and Happy New Year!

  18. Anne, I LOVE the idea of a colouring-in cloth! I've never heard of this before. I'm sure it's not just the kids who'd enjoy that. It looks so bright and cheerful and lovely! Do you lay out the felt-tips along with the cutlery lol!! what fun.

Thanks for your visit, and your nice comment - yes, I'm amazed how much I've managed to achieve this year, despite everything else going on in my life which seems determined to kill off any creativity at all! (See my other annual review post, separated because there was too much for a single post, and you will see what I mean.)

Hoping for better things this coming year, and LOTS of creative opportunities!

Happy New Year and happy WOYWW,

  19. PS Meant to say - do try the soap making! There are loads of instructions online (Youtube, Pinterest, etc. etc.). Melt & Pour is the way to go to start with. I haven't got into the cold process stuff yet - too frightened of messing about with lye! Melt & Pour is easy, fun, and very creative, and you can get lots of moulds and other supplies at a good price on Ebay. I've now got quite a collection of essential oils which I am using for other things than just soap. It's opening up a whole new area of creativity for me!

  28. I got a chuckle Anne when I saw your table - so like mine. Dishes, books at one end, where I work on writing and my art cards and then when we have company, everything has to be shifted! Happy New Year! Thanks for stopping by as well.

  29. I'm very late Anne, and hope you're fully recovered from your tummy bug at Ne w Year...awful timing. If you can seat twelve comfortably then believe me, your table is as long as it looks! Love the colouring cloth, what a fab memento too!
