WOYWW 264

I am sorry that I have still not photographed all my received ATC's . Many apologies and I will try to do so for next week. I hope that everyone has now received theirs from me.

Another week has flashed by and as always I have been so busy!!! Not a lot of time for crafting but I did manage to do a little knitting and have almost finished sewing those pesky ends in on my crochet squares.

Last Thursday I had the results from the MRI scan on my knee. A tear in the meniscus, extensive bruising, fluid and a query osteonecrosis. Consultant asked if I'd had a fall ( no) He seems a little puzzled and wants a second opinion. I am also going in for an arthroscopy . It is so strange really as it has been a lot easier and DH said last week just as I was going to see the physiotherapist that I was walking so much better. The consultant said that is is probably the steroid injection that is making it easier at the moment. I do worry about return of the pain I had before :-(  So watch this space!!!

After my appointment DH and I went straight off to Yorkshire to visit my son. his wife and our grandsons. Our eldest was 9 on Monday so we were there for his birthday celebrations and to see/hear our younger grandson play in his first concert - he plays a cornet.   I will do a more detailed, separate post about all of that as I am waiting for some photographs from my son. Briefly - ish on  Friday evening we sat and watched the boys at cricket practice - it was a wonderful evening in stunning surroundings. On Saturday morning we took Sam to band practice and I sewed in some more ends !!! Saturday afternoon D.I.L. and I decorated Harry's cake and then we went to local beauty spot to look at 'Art in the woods' - I only have photos on my phone though as I forgot to take camera and I can't get photos onto here. We then went to a local pub for tea. It was yummy.
Sunday morning was Harry's party. Started with 7 boys going swimming. They came back to have hot dogs and chips. Cake of course!!! Then at Harry's request they had a pinata - a dragon shaped one which they bashed with great gusto until all the sweeties fell out and were quickly gathered up. This was followed by some football themed games.

The birthday boy on his new bike ( in the garage) still in his PJ's :-)

Later on Sunday we set off to Holmfirth High School for the concert. Wonderful!!! More in a later post.
Sam ready to go to his concert - looking a little nervous here. He has never done anything like this before and is only 6. Bless him. We were very proud of him.

We returned home yesterday !!! Today we had Phoebe - well grandpa did I went out with friends for afternoon tea :-) but more of that later.

My desk - nothing has happened there since last week. It is all waiting for me to start to prep for my class on Saturday!!! Gulp.

Well that's it for now. If you want to visit some far more interesting desks than mine then pop along to Julia's Blog and join in the fun!!!!! See you soon. x

  4. Well, so glad that you know what is what with your knee, Anne, and now maybe the doctors can help make it right again. I love knowing you are having good times with your family, too, and I hope your workshop is successful on Saturday! xx

  5. A great week, Anne. What a wonderful gift grandkids are. Fabulous to go to the concert. Don't know about you - but I am usually more nervous for them than they are! Hope you get everything done ready for Saturday.

  7. Oh! that knee sounds very painful Anne I hope you manage to get to the bottom of the problem sooner rather than later. Glad you had a lovely visit with your family, I think you probably got some of our reclusive Yorkshire sun which makes outings all the more pleasurable. Just had a look at your last post, love those concertina cards they are just gorgeous. Do you think you might like to move to Yorkshire lol

  8. What a lovely post, Anne, and such great photos of your grandsons! What a proud little lad with his new bike. Not sure if the news is good or bad about your knee - nice to know what's going on but it all sounds pretty awful to me. I hope it continues to improve, and that they can do something to help the problem.

Thank you for your lovely comment - it sounds as if we share some health issues! I am very impressed with your weight loss and hope I can boast of the same after the next few months! It certainly helps one's general health not to be carrying around too much weight, especially if you have problems with your knees. It's early days for my new meds so far so can't report any dramatic improvement! The blood test came back positive for anaemia so I'm on iron as well, now. I need to remember what needs to be taken once, twice or three times a day!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed my holiday account and photos. I felt extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to see so much art! I have come back inspired, and completely overwhelmed by people's talent, especially the youngsters.

Nothing to show on my workdesk this week except a dumping ground, hence my not taking part in this particular WOYWW. Still trying to get back into some sort of routine after the holiday.

    Have a great week.

  15. So glad you got to visit your grandkids. I get to see ours twice a year, Christmas when they come and my Spring trip to see them. Your one photo of your grandson out in the garage reminds me of the ones we have at Christmas of our kids out in the garage in their pjs on their new bikes! :) Well, your desk does look neat, but won't for long when you get working on your class. Thanks for your visit, I appreciate your comments. Have a great class! :)

  16. Hi Anne,

It sounds like you had a wonderful time visiting with family and going to events.

I go to my knee doctor tomorrow and am hoping for a steroid shot. They certainly do help with the pain! I've already been told that I'll need a full knee replacement so we are going to discuss that too. I've already been through that on the other knee (ouch). I hope yours doesn't come to that. BUT, if it does you'll be glad that you've had it done.

Thank you for visiting me already!
    Happy WOYWW

  17. Thanks for visiting, Anne. Yes, TWO dresses. One for the ceremony here in Wales - and one for the ceremony at home in Romania. Doing the second one first as that is the most complex. I'm trusting the one for the Welsh ceremony will be a doddle after what I have been through with this one!!
DH still very poorly - thinking I may ask the Dr to call tomorrow as the w/e is coming up, and I don't want to have another 999 call!
    Thanks for asking.

  18. Sounds like you have been very busy but it's important to spend time with family even if the crafting has to wait Lol!
Good luck with the knee, my mum had one of her's done and it's great even though she was 80 when she had the operation.
Happy crafting, when you get the chance, Angela x #43
