WOYWW 255

A big thank you to those who have shown concern about my knee etc. I was very touched. Also big thank you's to Darnell and Shaz (in Oz) who sent me cards. So kind and thoughtful There are some lovely people  out there in Blogland.

Well it was a quiet Easter for us. Both our sons and their families went away .  Happy for them as they all needed time away . Did miss seeing them though but DH and I chilled out and I managed a bit more crafting and some sorting out.
Our Easter Day main meal was not a success!!! DH was carving the chicken and as he was carving realised it was not cooked properly - still bloody!!! DH risked eating what he'd carved but I wouldn't. So it was mainly veg for me!! Only the tiniest piece of chocolate afterwards as well as I am trying hard to lose weight. I bought DH an egg - everyone elected not to buy us chocolate in effort to help me. It's not easy though :-(

I will include a photo of what we had for Easter  instead at the end. Well I've digressed again so to my 'desk'

I managed another Easter card,  for my granddaughters and am trying to make a card for DH and our son. Their birthday's are only a day apart - next week. I have also managed some more crochet - but a still way behind others in the CAL. Also did more for my journal for DLP. Mine is very simple and amateurish compared with others but I am enjoying the process. No stressing any more !!!

So to my 'desk' to say I spread out is putting it mildly ;-) I haven't finished the cards for DH and DS yet - struggling a bit if truth be told. ( Photos taken Tuesday evening)

Above the start of DS card - not sure about it yet though. Oh it's an easel card as well - doesn't look like it there.
The rest of the table. Can you see there is also stuff on the windowsill and elsewhere you can't see :-)
Also on the floor and a chair.

Below the card I made for my granddaughters. I cased this from another blog. ( frenchiestamps ) Thought it very cute .

Oh and our Easter gifts

They both looked much better in real life.

Well I think I've probably gone on too long again. Sorry Julia.
If you haven't already joined in WOYWW then pop along to The Stamping Ground home of the lovely Julia and find out more. Will visit as many desks as possible. x

  1. Love the Easter cards! We had a quiet one this year with both kids (aged 18 and 16) working at their w/e jobs... But we're making up for it this w/e for my BIG birthday on Monday :)
    Happy WOYWW!

  2. Love the egg wreath, so much prettier and will last much longer than a fattening old chocolate egg, honest! (I am also on a diet, so eggs in this house for Easter either)! :(
Love the Easter card for your granddaughter, that is fab and love it when it is open. Annette #7

  3. Hi Anne, sorry, don't know how I did it, but I managed to miss your WOYWW post last week and miss reading about your knee - hope it's feeling easier now. You did well to avoid chocolate over Easter ... our house was a completely chocolate free zone, the only way to avoid temptation! As for being in the crafting doldrums, I blame the weather ... when it's warm and sunny the crafting mojo goes for a walk in the garden :) Hope yours returns soon to help with those cards your making. Have a happy St George's Day and a great week. Elizabeth x #39

  4. No chocolate for me either....my grandchildren see that I don't touch it cos they know sugar will make Nanny Annie poorly!!! :-) We can live without it I'm sure but I do love the stuff :-)
Hope the kneee is feeling a little easier for you.
    Hugs,

  6. Love that easter card, so sweet and so clever! You really do make the prettiest things and have obviously enjoyed making your craft area a 'creative' space! Did you get out every item you own?? Lol.
Glad to hear your knee is bearing up. Well done for trying to lose weight, I'm on that path too. Can only help our aching joints, eh?

  10. What a beautiful sweet Easter card, gosh it really is clever, please don't put yourself down, we all do what we can with what we have got and yours looks fantastic. As for the losing of weight, it will happen just hang in there. I have given up trying LOL. I hope you have a wonderful week and please stay positive.

  11. Thanks for visiting ! Love your Easter egg card - so inventive ! And the egg wreath is lovely - the colours are gorgeous !
I would have banged the reluctant chicken in the microwave or if you were making gravy stick the slices in there & heat them through - it's a trick I have used before & being in the meat industry can vouch for it making the chicken safe to eat !!! Ali #17

  13. Love all your egginess, Anne, esp. the card with the egg that opens and reveals the little chicks inside! Very Peter Carl Faberge... Hope the knee is on the mend, and sorry to hear about the disaster of the undercooked chicken! We "chickened out" and went out for lunch on Sunday!

I can see how your desk has spread onto all sorts of other surfaces too. I count my blessings every day that I have such a wonderful room to work in, with so much space, and room to dry things (teabags at the moment!). I have got a lot of projects on at the moment and am looking foward to the time when I can settle down and get to know my new sewing machine. I am also learning Final Cut Pro X (professional video editing software on the Mac) because I am so behind with my videos and blog posts, but am in the process of uploading the first one to Youtube as I write this.

Kitties are just as bad as children. Worse, probably.

Up till the small hours again... I do my best work then!

    Happy WOYWW,

  16. Anne, thanks for visiting and your lovely comments. Don't worry about ATC's, you only have to make as many as you want to. I'm a bit worried by you, and others, implying, 'a germ of an idea' that you are going to make a batch all the same. Mine are all different, all 5 so far. Would love to swap with you though but do not want to put pressure on you.
I love the Easter egg wreath, did you make that or receive it?
Do hope you get some news about treatment for your knee soon, and not just docs saying 'lose weight'.

  18. That opening egg is just lovely, Anne. Your work desk really does encourage me - 'cos it spreads so beautifully over the chair, settee, window sill, floor.... just like mine!!!!
I trust your knee eases up soon, and that you won't need quite so many painkillers.
Thank you for your visit - yes, there is a Warner hotel at Bodelwyddan - it's in the castle - and it's gorgeous!! we used to live about three miles from there in a village called Rhuddlan - it has its own castle, too - one of the chain Edward 1 built to keep the Welsh out of their own places. Now we live a little further along the coast at Rhos on Sea. We feel very blessed to live in such a wonderful area, and to have such beautiful friends in the church here.
I'm doing my utmost to look after myself as well as John - lots of time with feet up watching DVDs of Judge John Deed which a friend has lent us. Yes, one day, at the end of the summer, I will be able to show you the two wedding dresses!
    Do take care.
    God bless

  22. Before I forget the wreath of eggs and the bouquet are stunning!

Hi Anne! I'm sorry I'm so late stopping in to see your WOYWW posting. It sounds like you and DH had a good Easter in spite of the bloody chicken and the lack of children. Speaking of children, oh, my gosh, that egg card is the cutest card EVER!! So adorable!

I want to wish your DH and DS a very happy birthday in a few days!! And I still have you and your poorly knee in my thoughts and prayers, my friend. Your spirit is an inspiration to me!! Big hugs, Darnell
