WOYWW 211

Hello everyone. Where does the time go? Another Wednesday already!!! ( Well I am typing on Tuesday evening as I am going to be so busy in the morning)
Just wanted to say thank you for all the kind wishes last week for me and my Mum. I am a lot better thank you. Mum continues to worry us. She has gone to her own home but is still feeling 'under the weather' the doctors have not really found out what caused her blackout - but she is on a lot of medication. She said today she had a funny turn in the garden and thought she was going to fall. :-( Please keep her in your prayers ( if you can)
Also thank you to Kay (505whimsygirl.) for the lovely ATC and photo card of the tractor. I am going to put my received ATC's etc together and will blog them later.
Anyway I'm sorry Julia for going off topic!!! To my desk at once. I have been finishing off a couple of cards this week. One for my grandson which I will show you at another time and one for my best friend who shares his birthday. I have been keeping my work space very tidy - guess cos not been doing a lot there. So it looks very boring. You can see the card for my friend and a stamped image someone sent me in a swap.

So as that is all pretty boring thought I would show you the gorgeous swaps I got from SU Regional Training in Telford.

Aren't they gorgeous - there are some clever folk out there!!!

Finally - you'll be glad to know the other thing I've been doing is decorating these cakes for my GS's Village Fair. They are rich fruit cake baked in 4" tins. I had left over ingredients that needed using up. They are covered with marzipan and fondant icing. I had all the decorations ready in my 'Blue Peter' box - things I made earlier at classes.

Below on my 'desk' wrapped and ready to go!!!
Well that's all folks. Sorry I've not stuck to 'the brief' but hope you enjoyed looking.
Why am I showing you my desk/work space - oh you must have heard!!!! No then pop over to Julia's blog
and join in the fun. I will visit anyone who leaves me a comment, blogs I follow and anyone ending in same number as me. x

  12. Firstly, hope your mum is recovering slowly...it might take some time. Make sure you have some down time too because being a carer is hard work.
Next, I LOVE those little cakes..they're going to sell out really quick. Often people buy those if they don't want a massive cake. Well done, they look fab!

  16. Still praying for your Mum Anne. Do keep me informed about how she and Auntie are getting on. I am hopefully going to meet up with my Gran in two weeks and can't wait! We are meeting in Bristol of all places because I have a conference there and she reckons she can get there by train and have a meal with me. As you can tell I am rather excited. Anyway, I digress....love all those gorgeous cards...they are all so different and so pretty. Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW. Caro x (#137)

  22. Holy stampin up!! What gorgeous tags, cards, and other goodies you got from your training day. Very impressive. And of course, those cakes are beautiful. You decorated them SO well. And since I'm trying to be brief (grin), have a super slightly late WOYWW from #17.

  23. I tried to leave you a message earlier, but my computer froze up about the time it was trying to publish. Your Stampin Up friends and workshop goers know how to make some pretty awesome cards and tags. Very impressive.

Your tiny cakes are simply divine. They look like the genuine thing.

Sorry to read about your mother. My thoughts are with her today. And a rather belated WOYWW from #17.

  24. I hope your Mum is recovering and feeling more confident after her fall. It is a very frightening thing to deal with for her and for you. Could she have Lifeline fitted in her home, which would give her a pendant to wear to call for help. This will even work in the garden. I have a pendant which came as a part of our house alarm and wear that all the time so that my family know that I can always summon help, now I am on my own. Those small cakes are such a good idea and I might steal it to use up some of my surplus ingredients. My only problem is that I am totally incapable of icing flat - my icing is always of the "snow scene" variety. Thank you for your visit this week and your supportive words. xx Maggie #13
