WOYWW 192

Another week has flown by and it's time to go and see what's on other crafters desks around the globe. If you've not discovered this activity yet then pop along to Julia's blog at   stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ and join in.

Well since last week I managed to hold my card workshop on Thursday evening though sadly only two people turned up - one lady was ill and the other - I found out today thought it was this coming Thursday and was very upset she had missed it. There will be another in a month's time. We had fun though and the two ladies really enjoyed making their cards and small gift. I have also made a couple of bits and pieces and have been working on the knitted blanket - not too much to do now.

To my desk. I actually tidied it up yesterday so this is how it looks now - well I say desk also known as dining table as my desk holds, ink pads, big shot and cuttlebug etc etc.

BUT I tidied up so that I could make a start on my Lillybo Quilt a wonderful project started by the lovely Jo jozartdesigns.blogspot.com/  pop over to her blog and have a peep.

Not a good photo but some of my fabric out ready.

This year I decided to join in with JumpStart - sadly not got very far but have lots of lovely ideas - especially about 'just going for it' in a creative sense. Am ready to start and hope to post photos of my efforts. Below is first page of my NEW journal that features one of the techniques shown by the lovely Nathalie Kalbach ( hope I've spelled that correctly) using embossing powders and DS tape. I was quite restrained to begin with so copied what she did really. But hope to 'let go' a bit in my future experiments with the techniques featured.

Below you can see the lovely cross, packet and card with the poem The Cross in my Pocket that the lovely Jo sent me. Many thanks again Jo,  jozartdesigns.blogspot.com/ you are so kind. There are such lovely people in Blogland.

The card below and the box I made for it were for my friend's Mum who as you can see is celebrating her 90th birthday. A lovely lady who enjoys life o the full. She is also going to make a quilt for the Lillybo Quilt Appeal. How wonderful.

Next the cone and cards we made at my class. Not my original designs and many thanks to those who have shared them on the net. These were my examples and the ladies made their versions of them.
The cone was filled with chocolates.

This was one I adapted to send as a birthday card. I folded the card in the wrong place so the front was not as wide as the back. So I put a strip of paper down the side and was quite pleased with the result.

And finally, thank goodness I hear you say another little gift holder again inspired by one I saw . I have put a chocolate heart inside to go with a present for someone.

I am sorry to be photo heavy. Hope you've enjoyed looking. Anne x

  1. Lovely cards Anne. Good luck with the quilt making. Lovely fabrics....I use a litght weight wadding between the quilted front and it's lining to just give them a snuggly feeling but not making it too heavy.
Feel free to shout if you need help/advise....I'm new to quilt making but am happy to share what I know :-)

  11. I wish we were a bit closer, Anne, so that we could get together to craft, but I guess I will just have to be glad that we can post pictures back and forth about what we are doing. I am going to check out your quilting project link. I have been collecting material for years to make a patchwork quilt, but need to focus on cutting squares first, which has me a bit anxious. So far I have hand-stitched and quilted a little nine patch pillow...now to be brave to leap into a big project :-)
Your cards are really lovely, as is the packet that Jo sent you!
Thanks for posting and for your friendship!!
    xx,

  12. All I can say is WOW! What a lot you have made and how pretty they are. I am so sorry that so few attended your workshop...such a shame when you went to so much trouble preparing for it! Per haps the word might get around and that lady might get the correct date!!
    Love your work

Many thanks for your visit, and for your good wishes for our house move. Lots to do, not a lot of time to do it, but we're getting on OK! Each box filled is one less to do.

  21. Sorry to be so late returning your visit but I was out all day yesterday - spending more money. Im another who crafts on her dining table and mine is nice and tidy now - it wasn't until 10 minutes ago when I pushed everything out of the way. I managed to watch all the Creative JS videos - didn't win any of the give-aways though. liked some more than others, my favourite was by Julie Balzar - love her stuff, and her masks.

Good luck finishing the quilt - will keep an eye open for the finished picture.
