WOYWW 184

Hello everyone it's Wednesday once more - still coming by so quickly. I wasn't going to join in this week as I have so much to do after being poorly. However I decided I needed some me time after being busy all day attempting to catch up. In case you stumbled on my blog and wonder what this is all about then click on WOYWW button at bottom of my blog. Go visit the lovely Julia Dunnitt's blog and join in the fun.

To be honest there's not a lot to see really. I have been trying to make a few cards ( but have also bought some as no way I was going to get them all made) as well as put up some decorations but my desk and dining room table ( my second desk ) don't look a lot different to last week.

Actual desk - the chocolate Santa is to go into my mum's present bag - honest.

Other side - as you can see have been using the framelits (? is that what they're called) quite a bit.

Tile awaiting use - if I ever get round to making the cards. In the pack on the right are bits and pieces that were left over from last workshop I did. Am supposed to be doing one at the local library next week but am feeling very pressured now. Was going to use the leftovers from last one and make same cards.

Treated myself to the punch in the picture. Have seen it used a lot and also at Sugarcraft and have coveted it for a while. A present to cheer myself up while I was poorly. :-)

The little pile of cards I've made. These are several of three designs but have made some more individual ones as well. Have put top of ones on left onto top of those on right- just realised so you can't see those sorry. Mainly inspired by some I've seen I'm afraid.

Today managed to marzipan mine and mum's cake - have to get mum's iced and decorated by Sat - afraid my decorations will not be up the usual standard.

Yesterday was lucky enough to go out to lunch. A friend from Sugar craft invited four of the group for a Christmas lunch at her house. She is an excellent cook. We had fish souffle for starters, lamb tagine with spiced cauliflower and couscous with homemade bread rolls followed by a three chocolate layered mousse laced with a little something 'hic, hic' it was delicious. I really enjoyed getting out - had been in for so long.

Below is the beautiful poinsettia that my friend Dagmar bought for us. She buys us one every Christmas .

We've been having a few fires lately - photo not so good but a real cheery glow.

Hope you are all ready for the big day. I'm off to link up and have a nosey at the wonderful creations of others. x

  3. Looking at your fire, I think we need to empty the ashes and get the wood in ready for Christmas. I shall not marzipan the cake till next week, and the ice it a couple of days later - note to self, make sure I don't use too much blue in the royal icing this time. Hope you get your workshops etc done in good time. Have a good week. xx Maggie #33

Your cards are so pretty, I'm sure everyone will love them. And it doesn't matter if the choccy doesn't make it into your mum's stocking...I won't tell!

  11. Happy Belated WOYWW. Thank you for visiting me. The lunch menu sounds really yummy - wish I still lived in the Midlands, as I miss having having so many friends close by (I lived in Birmingham for a few years - Perry Barr, Erdington, Handsworth - and then Tipton in the Black Country for 7 years). I am posting most of my Xmas cards today - and buying some charity ones for the rest of the list. Ali x #20

  12. Hello! I'm the "linky" below yours at Stampin' Ground this week, so I thought I'd come and visit you!
I like Stampin' Up products - not so easy to get them round here though...

Love your bauble cards - very pretty! The tree ones are lovely too. I like the little jewels you've stuck on each tree.

Why not use paper die-cut decorations on the Christmas cakes? They look lovely on cards - I'm sure they'd make a cake look extra gorgeous!

    Merry Christmas!
