A second Christmas Celebration and Happy New Year

My eldest son, his lovely wife and my beautiful grandsons arrived on Friday the 28th to celebrate Christmas with us.
I shopped and tidied. Changed beds. Prepared the dining room. Those who visit my blog know that it is usually an extension of my desk. It all got tidied away ( well put out of sight) and the table was clear and ready for us to dine at.

Presents were under the tree.

Lights were lit.

The fire was all ready in case it got really cold, which it did last night.

My family arrived safely on Friday at about half past eight, the children  in their PJ's and new dressing gowns and were desperate to open those presents!!

They brought these new friends with them :-) they are pet pillows. They open out and they used them as pillows.

Presents opened - DS helping Grandpa to further master his new Tablet.

The next day we had to change our plans for a day walking and scooting as the weather was so dreadful. Instead we went to The Transport Museum In Coventry. The children absolutely loved it as did grandpa. The photos are on my phone and have not done anything with them yet ( it s a new phone and I have to work out what to do :-) )
Afterwards it was back to Grandma and Grandpa's for a special tea. We had such fun and the children sang for us and played so sweetly together. We are truly blessed.

The dining room table - starting to put out 'the feast ' excuse the bottles and shop containers- I usually decant everything - my D's I L said I should not worry - less washing up!!!!!

On Sunday we went to Birmingham Town Hall to see a live production of the Gruffalo's Child. Below is the stage at the start ( we were asked not to take photos during the play) it was all very cleverly done and we really enjoyed it.

Below is view from Pizza Express in Birmingham where we had lunch afterwards. It was yummy. I had a very tasty and large pizza.

I would like to show you more photos of my beautiful grandchildren but my younger son does not like them put on my blog and I must respect his wishes.

Today we were all together at our house for a lunch of leftovers!!! They have all returned home now. I miss them very much(  but I was glad of a rest. )

I would like to wish everyone that may visit a very Happy New Year and I hope it will be all you wish for.
See you in 2013. Anne x

  6. Hi Anne. So glad that you had a second go at Christmas. Fun isn't it?! I know what you mean about wanting to put grandchildren's photos on.....I have some lovely ones I'd love to share but I suppose we do have a responsibility! Enjoy them anyway and we will just love hearing about all your exploits! Joan

  7. I can empathise with your son re the children. I would love to feature my friend's little girl and, whilst she would allow me to, I cannot as I would hate to cause any problems. Isn't it a shame! Let's just be grateful that we can love our own without any recriminations (and in my case my friend's little one).
Thank you for sharing those beautiful photographs, a joy to see such a warm inviting home.
    Hugs, Neet xx
