WOYWW 176

Yes it's Wednesday again and time to show our desks in all their glory - well not a lot glorious about mine today!! If you visited last week you might remember I was bringing my crafting downstairs so that I could get another bed (well sofa chair) in the bedroom for when my eldest son and family visit. I didn't realise how hard it would be and how much stuff I had. But it was good to sort it out, I now have clean corners in two rooms :-) and I do think it will be better when completed. I am still needing to find room for some punches, ribbons and my clear stamps. Still working on a solution. I am hoping to go to NEC to craft show and want to look at some storage - so at the moment most things have a temporary home. I don't need the dining room for everyday as I am lucky enough to have a table in kitchen as well but want to be able to make dining room look good when entertaining. So watch this space!!!

Anyway my 'desk' - it was a Washstand that was damaged and the centre replaced with leather. My other desk is waiting to be sold!!!

Below is the floor to ceiling oak bookcase that was in the house when we moved in. It was full of books. There are another two shelves you can't see and I have left some old books that I inherited on their. I have sorted through the others soe went to charity, some going back to my sons and the others have been redistributed around the house :-) You can see there is a pile of stuff waiting to find a new home.

My dining table- looking a lot clearer since this photo this morning.

Another bookcase ( I have a lot of books!!! ) All my card and paper on here at moment but want a storage for paper that will look like a piece of furniture as well.

Since taking this my bigshot (in the bag) is on top of smaller bookcase and bag put away, and the plastic bag of knitted items for Africa is in a cupboard and I have sorted the bags out.

Well hope you've enjoyed seeing what I've been up to craftwise. Managed to make a small card and have been knitting. My sewing stuff and yarn is all upstairs - all tidy. Well I'm off to link up in a minute with Julia and then to visit as many as I can. Want to join in then click on WOYWW button at end of my blog.
Will be back tomorrow to tell you about my weekend in Wales. Anne x

  10. Pity you had to give up your space and relocate, family does come first. It looks like you have it all under control, it looks good from here.

  14. That sounds like a huge project you've got going, not easy to downsize, clear out and sort out all at the same time! My ink jars are old pasta jars with cork lids, they look great but the ink I want is always at the bottom!!!

PS. Bread rolls in the slow cooker:

    12 fl oz warm water
    3/4 tablespoon yeast
    3/4 tablespoon sea salt
    24oz - 28oz bread flour
    melted butter

Stir together water, yeast and salt in a mixing bowl, add flour, the dough is quite sticky. Leave to prove until double in size. Punch down and shape into 6 - 8 rolls. Grease and line a large slow cooker with baking paper, add the rolls and bake on high with the lid on for 1 - 1 1/2 hrs, depending on your slow cooker. These are soft rolls. To brown, brush with a little melted butter or oil and brown for a couple of minutes under the grill!

  17. AWESOME! Sounds like you are getting it all organized and put away. I thought when my DH went away for a business trip I would have time to get stuff done but I keep dealing with folks trying to keep me unlonely! Love them all but can't get done what I need to! Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Glad you stopped by my blog! Vickie #71

  20. Well done Anne! I think the scariest part of moving the craft stuff to another room is the realisation how much you have...been there, and it was over two years ago, so nowi dread to think!
