Olympic weekend

What an exciting time I've had. On Friday DH and I went to Old Trafford (home of Manchester United) tyo watch one of the Olympic football matches!! My DS had tried to get tickets for a London event but was not successful. However we could not have wished for a better time. We arived there on Friday and met up with my son, his wife and my grandsons Harry and Sam. We were also joined by my DIL's parents, her sister and husband and their two boys so there were 12 of us altogether. We all had dinner on Friday evening, a walk and a drink in the bar afterwards.
We were up very early on Saturday morning for breakfast and to wish Sam a happy 5th birthday and watch him open his pressies.
Then it was off to the match- lots of people and a real buzz. Harry my eldest GS decided he wanted a Japanese flag alongside the union flag. I have never been inside a football stadium before so it was quite a moment when I got to top of steps and out into the stadium. Japan won 3 - 0 there was a great atmosphere in there and we had a brilliant time.
After the match we walked to Frankie's and Benny's (sp) where we had lunch and a cake for Sam. Everyone in the restaurant sang Happy Birthday !! A lovely walk back to hotel carpark and then home. So enjoyed our time there and being with everyone.

Harry - my grandson and his daddy - my eldest son Matthew.

This Sam on Saturday morning in hotel bedroom - his 5th birthday!! Happy Birthday sweetheart. I think this was taken on phone .

I have just watched the Tennis Final- obviously glad that GB won a gold medal but was so torn as I really like Roger Federer but well done to Andy Murray - a great win. Hope you've all had a great weekend.
