WOYWW 164 (and what I've been up to)

I was missing last week as we went up to visit my eldest son and his family. But before I report on what we were up to I will show you my desk. It's a bit boring as I didn't get back until yesterday and had not touched my desk since last week. So why show you my desk? Pop along to Julia's blog and find out. Click on link at end of my blog.

I've been having a change round on my desk as well as around it. Trying to tidy up a bit, make some things more accessible. Still have a way to go. This is as I left it last week. In the drawers at the back are inks ( just my versafine, versacolour and versa chalk one's) I moved my lamp a bit as I wasn't using it where it was so this is a better position. I was also trying re arrange stamp storage so in the really useful box are a lot of stamps waiting to be rehomed. Also moved my ppromarkers into a easier place to reach. There's some magazines waiting to be put away , some dies, and my Houghie board.

On the right the box of drawers you can see used to have the inks I mentioned and this has been put elsewhere since I took the photo. There are some Stampin Up inks, my spotty equipment holder and a pile of card, paper etc that has since been sorted.

That's it for my desk folks hope you enjoy having a peek.

For anyone else who has time /inclination to carry on here's what I've been up to since I last put anything on here.
Last week was hectic!!! On Monday we had Ella and went out to lunch. On Tuesday afternoon I went to a 'garden party' - well it was indoors cos of the weather. At the end of Summer Term all the ladies at SUgarcraft go to Thelma's house for lunch. We all take something along - I took Raspberry Tiramisu the recipe for which I found on the lovely Di's blog. It was much appreciated.
Wednesday we set off for Leeds. On Thursday took my grandsons to school and collected them as mummy was at work. On Friday Carolynn and I decorated Sam's cake ( my grandson Sam had his birthday party on Saturday) it took about 5 hours. Remember the overflowing cake - well this is what two of those became

A Super Mario cake  - there were a few mistakes but Sam was pleased with it. His arms and legs are at the back as he is supposed to be flying.
Saturday was the party and everyone had a great time. There was a snow machine which all the children loved - here's Sam posing for a photo.

On Sunday we were all up very early to o and support Matthew ( my son) in his Olympic distance triathlon.
The venue was Castle Howard and the weather was lovely. Not sure why I have photgraphed at this angle!!

The first stage was a 1500m swim - here he is ready to get in the water.

You can just about see the blue hats in the water.
Next came the 46km bike ride!!! I didnt get a shot of that.

Below he is setting off on the 10km run- a bit of a blurry shot.

@Thankgoodness it's over- never again!!' At the finsh with his wife Carolynn
Above a picnic - and he's feeling better.
Above with his medal and Carolynn and their boys. He managed to raise over £900 for the Psoriasis Association. Carolynn and Sam ( the younger one) have psoriasis.
Well done Matthew we are so proud of you!!!!!

Below are two cards I made at Card class on the 14th July.

I am off to add my desk to the list of others on Julia's blog . Back soon. Anne x

  2. Wow! Anne you have been so busy!
Well done to your son on the triathlon! I don't know how people do things like that - isn't it amazing what the human body can do!
The cake is fantastic - Looks exactly like Mario! I think you could start a wee business there!
And of course your cards are fab as always! I think we all need to change our craft rooms around every so often as our needs and styles change - and of course to fit in all the extra stash we all keep accumulating! lol!
I haven't taken part in WOYWW myself for quite a while as I wasn't able to keep up with my blogging and I knew I wouldn't be able to comment and didn't think it was fair, but I'm slowly getting back into blogging so will hopefully start taking part again soon.

  4. Gosh Anne where do I start...
you've been so busy and there's so much in this post.
Your desk looks very tidy but then that's not surprising when you read what you've been up to.
The cake is no less than fantabulous!!! I've made novelty cakes in my time so know how much effort has gone into that ;D
Well done to your son...what a brilliant example he is to his son's. You must be so proud of him and rightly so.
You have some great photos to keep just in case he doesn't do it again. (hehe)
It's Friday here already so belated happy WOYWW wishes.
