My first cardclass and WOYWW 161

Thought I'd best put my desk on first and then if you want to read the rest you can.

After the class on Sat (see below) I'd put everything away- tidied up and was ready to go creating again. Well had my GD on Mon afternoon and she wanted to make a card for Phoebe ( her sis) as she has chicken pox. Ella saw the sample I'd made for class and declared that was what she wanted to make. She did it all her self- stamped, distressed stickled and did it so well ( she is not 5 until Sept) but this was how my craft space looked afterwards :-)

There were bits and pieces everywhere

the little boxes have all the elements left from cards from class

She wanted to write inside the card I love you Phoebe - which you can see I've written out for her to copy.
I think everyone must know about WOYWW - no well pop over to the lovely Julia's blog and join in the fun.

I think a lot of you who read my blog knew I was taking my first cardmaking class last Saturday. It was my first time teaching adults how to make cards. I kept thinking - who am I to think I know enough, am creative enough to do this and I'd not taught for 6 years ( that was children) . Well it went well and everyone loved what they made ( although I had case some ideas ). Unfortunately when the date was chosen no one knew the Olympic Torch would be going through our town. Result was only four ladies - but maybe that was enough for first time. However I had a great time and realy enjoyed it. Have been asked to do another one in Sept/Oct. Have the bug now though and would like to do something before then so need to get my thinking cap on.

As you have probably noticed 'I've come out' yes I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Actually joined in March but have been taking it slowly.

Can anyone tell me how to keep my previous post at the top of my blog until end of July?
Have some photos of what we made at class.

Please note that I cased the card with the awning from Jules of Julies Japes . I had seen it in various places but liked the colourway Jules had used. Also used the same colours as Jules used for the gift box, although my box design is slightly different. Thanks Jules.

The theme was obviously Cupcakes - everyone had a cupcake ' bath bomb' to put in the gift box.

Ooooops that ribbon is not very straight. Hope you like anyway.

  2. Woo Hoo! Welcome out of the closet. I love Stampin'Up! and have been a hobbyist demo since November 2008 but only buy and don't sell much. Congrats on your first card class and four is a great number to start it all out with. Jules is an awesome person to case from too. Thanks for posting on my blog. Have a great week. Vickie #36

I really like those little gift boxes at the end of your post, very clever. They look tricky to make though...

  4. Hi Anne, and well done with your teaching! Of course the ladies would enjoy it, and come away with something they were pleased with, I am sure.

Great that you are encouraging the grand kids as well - kids like messing about with crafting and getting messy as much as adults do lol!!

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, and I'm glad you like my ATCs. I'm feeling a lot better now, thank you!

    Happy WOYWW,

  10. Your workspace doesn't look too bad considering a five year old has been let loose in it! I love crafting with my grand-daughter, though she is much older than that now.
I hope you enjoy being a SU demonstrator. The cards are lovely, and I'm sure the first class is the hardest, so it's just as well there were only four ladies. There will be more next time and you will be ready for them.

  14. I guess you figured out how to keep that one post at the top of your blog because there is was! Congrats on your venture into SU. Was the class you taught a SU workshop then? I've taught classes before and the key to success is lots of preparation. I'm an A Muse demo and am doing my first workshop later this month and I'm quite nervous about it even though I've done classes before.

Love the long shot view of your desk, nice to see the whole area. And isn't it funny how making just one card can make such a mess? Crazy how that is.

  15. Hi yes I did it as an SU demonstrator but it was more workshop than just a demo. I don't know that I'll get any orders from it but not really too upset at moment by that. Good to do the first one. One problem I have is that I have/ and like other stuff as well as SU. So we will see. Di sent me instructions re keeping post at top. I am learning everyday. Anne x

  17. Not to terribly a lot of mess there for one under the age of 5 I'd say! Your cards are very cute! Thanks for visiting my WOYWW post this week!
